Help Build a School in Pakistan
GBM Hope Schools offer free, government-accredited education for children who are forced to build bricks as slave labor. The school we are currently building will provide elementary - high school education for 300+ students, and it is 100% donor funded. You can make a real and tangible difference in the lives of hundreds of families by giving to this project!
Hope School Project Details
There are over 20,000 brickyards in the Punjab region of Pakistan, and each brickyard is run by slaves who make bricks by hand for 12+ hours per day. The abuse suffered in these brickyards is unspeakable - especially for the most vulnerable. So, we came up with a solution: offer free education to put an end to cyclical poverty. And its working!

The only way to get families out of the brickyard for good and to break cycles of generational poverty is through education. When children are educated, they can use their English skills to get well-paying jobs in business or the government, help their families leave the brickyards, and leave a legacy of freedom with their future children.

GBM schools provide education to these children for 2-3 hours during the day, sandwiched in between their work in the brickyards, and bring in teachers to equip the children in English, Urdu, Geography, and the Bible. These are Christian schools, but they are open to children of all religious backgrounds, and they are accredited by the Pakistani government.

Today, we have over 20 schools that serve nearly 1,000 children, and the project we are working on now will have the most impact of all. We are working to build a brick and mortar building that will house roughly 300 children and provide education all the way through high school. There will be 12 classrooms, multiple teachers, and even a playground in the front of the school to bring JOY to kids that simply don’t have enough of it in their lives.
